Silver Dollar City (SDC), an 1880s-style theme park near Branson, Missouri, is owned by Herschend Family Entertainment (HFE) and features six world-class festivals annually. The park spans 55 acres with twelve stage venues, twenty-two rides, and numerous attractions. Paragon is the primary supplier of audio, video, and lighting services across SDC's properties.
A centerpiece of SDC is the 5,000-seat Echo Hollow Amphitheater, which underwent a significant audio system upgrade in 2016. The project had been in development for several years, with the new system designed by Paragon lead Audio Designer, Mark Coble. The system was built to handle a wide variety of events, including nightly productions, concerts from national artists, gospel performances, and more.
The new setup featured Electrovoice's Xi installation series speakers, EVI dual 15-inch subwoofers, and weatherproofing to withstand the outdoor environment. Electrovoice amplifiers and Netmax DSP processing were used to complete the signal chain, and Avid digital house consoles were selected for front-end control. The system's first use was during the annual Young Christians weekend in April, featuring top Christian acts. The new audio setup has received praise from HFE executives, guest artists, and industry trade magazines, particularly for its flexibility and sound quality, with many sound engineers appreciating the iPad-controlled Avid system.
